Dhaka Dynamites beat Sylhet Sixers to register second consecutive victory

After loosing the first game, Dhaka Dynamites geared up for its victorious journey in the league and defeated Sylhet Sixers in 10th match of ongoing Bangladesh Premier League. Batting first, Sixers scored 101 runs in 20 overs with the loss of nine wickets. Dhaka’s team successfully chased the target in 8 overs.

After winning the toss, Dhaka’s team opted to bowl first. Sylhet Sixers’ opener players Upul Tharanga and Danushka Gunathilaka could not give a better start to their team’s batting inning. Danushka scored 15 runs in 9 balls. After scoring only one run, Upul Tharanga lost his wicket in the second over.

The two Sri Lankan cricketers lost their wickets in the early phase of the game. Top order of batting lineup failed to perform well in today’s match. Sabbir Rahman came to bat next along with skipper Nasir Hossain. The two players too didn’t manage to score huge runs for the team and returned to pavilion with miserable scores in hands.

Performance of the middle order of batting order was also worst in this game which was being played at Sher-E-Bangla National stadium. Abul Hasan and Tajibul Islam played crucial roles in taking the team’s overall score beyond triple digit figure. Hitting 1 six and 3 fours, Hasan scored 30 runs in 26 balls while Islam made 16 runs in 20 balls.

Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi picked up four wickets while Caribbean cricketer Sunil Narine took three. Abu Hider Rony grabbed two wickets and other all bowlers went wicketless in this match. Dynamites started the run-chase with a stormy opening. Opener cricketers Evin Lewis and Shahid Afridi donned speedy approach to score the runs.

Hitting 5 sixes and 2 fours, Lewis scored 44 runs in 18 balls. Afridi too left no stone unturned in hitting big shots. The right handed Pakistani cricketer smashed five sixes and scored 37 runs in 17 balls. Afridi lost his wicket in 5th over. In the same over, next batsman Cameron Delport too returned to pavilion after Afridi’s dismissal.

Lewis was strong at one end of strike. Bangladeshi cricketer Shakib Al Hasan accompanied him in the run chase. The left arm all-rounder cricketer scored 18 runs in 11 balls. Dhaka’s team successfully chased the target of 102 runs with the loss of two wickets and ended the game in 8th over. Shahidi Afridi received ‘Player of the Match’ award for his monstrous performance in this BPL T20 match.
